Zerxes

Corporate Branding

Description

As a design exercise, I built out a brand style for a fictional Aerospace & Defense company called “Zerxes.” In addition, I created a brand for a subsidiary company called Dropshot. What follows is the brand and assets I developed and the lessons I learned in this exercise.

Business Suite

Creating Business Basics

The company’s business suite was created early on in the project. I created a grid that worked well for the brand, the colors, and the style and also reflected the tone of the company. Creating business cards can be challenging when trying to place information in such a small area, but I was careful to make sure it followed the same rules.

Ephemera

Business Merchandise

Creating the corporate promotional merchandise required me to think of things the company employees would actually use on a daily basis, to both represent their company brand, but to also improve their own connections with the company. I decided to give employees not only basic merchandise like shirts and hats, but also useful items, like flashlights, notebooks and mugs. Because the company is all about flight, I also added a special Frisbee item.

Website

Web Design

The website was created next. It would have to hold a variety of information, all of which I considered. Some relative base information would sit inside of the front, and all other information would be relegated to drop-down categories, rather than cluttering up the navigation bar with too much.

Secondary Brand

Advertising for a Subsidiary Brand

I also created advertisements for the Zerxes Subsidiary brand, a parachuting company named Dropshot. I created an ad for their premiere line of enthusiast backpacks, backpacks which both hold parachutes but can also be used as normal bags after deployment.

Brand Guidelines

Creating the Brand Guidelines

Lastly, I created a set of instructions for the company to follow after I leave it. This would include how to use the logo, the company colors, what the logo and colors stand for, whether to include texture, and much more.

Let’s work together.
